Philippine Floods 2012

Let us contribute to this weekend’s collection for the Charis Humanitarian Aid Fund – to support the aid response to the floods in the Philippines.

There will also be a Special Mass to Pray for Victims of the Philippines Floods

On 6 August 2012, heavy and intense South West monsoon rains began beating down on the Philippines capital and its surrounding provinces. By 8 Aug 2012, 151 towns and 288 cities in 35 provinces in Luzon were submerged. To date, the flood waters have caused landslides, killed 60 people, injured hundreds and made thousands homeless. Almost 2 million Filipinos from 454,093 families were affected.

CHARIS, together with the Filipino community in Singapore, will organize a special Mass for the floods victims at the Church of St Alphonsus (Novena Church) on Sunday 26 August 2012 at 11am.
